ABOUT US
Afya Reach is a social impact organisation dedicated to improving global food security and public health by promoting sustainable agricultural practices and ensuring access to nutritious food for vulnerable populations. We are transforming the way communities approach health and agriculture by creating sustainable food systems that directly improve public health outcomes. Our programs teach smallholder farmers how to cultivate nutrient-dense crops using eco-friendly methods, ensuring that the food they produce not only feeds families but also combats malnutrition. By integrating health education into agricultural development, we empower communities to make informed decisions about their diets, reduce the incidence of preventable diseases, and foster a healthier environment for future generations
CORE ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAM
We run nutritional education programs to teach families about healthy eating, supports maternal and child health initiatives, and works to prevent disease outbreaks related to unsafe food practices. We provide training in sustainable farming, supply drought-resistant seeds, and collaborate with local farmers to boost crop yields while protecting the environment.
INTEGRATED APPROACH TO HEALTH AND AGRICULTURE
By promoting sustainable farming practices, we not only help preserve the environment, but also reduce exposure to excessive pesticides that can lead to chronic health problems. Additionally, we ensure that the crops grown are nutrient-dense, improving community health outcomes.
SUCCESS STORIES
In rural Kenya, our program has trained and supported over 1,000 heads of households on safe and affordable nutritional practices with the aim of reducing malnutrition rates.
